There are several ways to contribute to Nucleus: through Developer Notes, issues and pull requests on our repos, and discussion on the Forum. Here’s where to start, depending on what you’re looking to do.
Share a result (DevNote)¶
Developer Notes (DevNotes) are the primary way to contribute science to Nucleus. They’re a way to quickly share plans, results, and replications with the developer community, and can lead to changes in Nucleus Docs, including new Modules, Processes, and Implementations.
The DevNote creation workflow is actively evolving, so rather than duplicate it here, start with:

DevNote template — the project template pulled into Nucleus Hub when you start a new DevNote
Once your DevNote exists, see the Contribution Guidelines for what makes a submission more likely to be integrated into the Distribution.
Contribute to a repo¶
Nucleus Docs, tools, and reference collections live across several repos in the Nucleus GitHub organization. Found a bug, typo, or gap? Open an issue. Want to propose a fix or addition yourself? Open a pull request.
Nucleus Docs — the documentation site itself, including protocols, specs, and guides
DNA — the DNA sequence collection
DevNote Archive — the archive of published DevNotes. Corrections and improvements are welcome here too; maintainers review and cut new versions from accepted PRs.

Licensing and openness¶
Nucleus content is released under permissive licenses so others can use, modify, and build on it: narrative content and data under CC-BY-4.0, and protocols, designs, and sequence maps under CERN-OHL-P-2.0.
